The concrete that fills the hollows at the tops and bottoms of the forms becomes horizontal beams. The reinforcing steel shown begins in the third beam and is included in every third beam thereafter. 1 1/2 inches wide metal attachments studs are located every 12 inches on center for fastening your choice of conventional interior and exterior finishes. The concrete that fills these cylindrical hollows becomes vertical columns. Reinforcing steel is included in at least every second column. The concrete between the columns is called the web. Tongues and grooves interlock for correct alignment and insulation seal. Pressing the first set of I.C.E. Block forms into the wet concrete footing creates a double barrier to water seepage at the footing.

Building your Future with the I.C.E. Block™
A Superior Insulated Concrete Building System

How the System Works
  • The footings are poured, and the bottom row of I.C.E. Block forms are set on the wet or dry footings.
  • Factory corners are set and braced.
  • The I.C.E. Block forms are stacked to the desired height and reinforcing steel (rebar) is wired in place.
  • Window and door framing is set and braced, and intermediate bracing is set.
  • Concrete is placed in the wall and finished at the top.
  • After the concrete sets, the corner and intermediate braces are removed.
  • The super insulated monolithic wall is now ready for interior and exterior finish.
